Tangram celebrates four new projects

Partnering with Torbay Council to unlock local heritage

Brixham, Torbay

We’re excited to be working with Torbay Council on a new audience and engagement project supporting Torbay’s Heritage Place programme.

As one of the first areas in the UK to be designated a Heritage Place by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Torbay (encompassing Brixham, Paignton and Torquay) is embarking on a 10-year journey to unlock the potential of its extraordinary heritage. From Torre Abbey and Kents Cavern to Brixham’s maritime past and Agatha Christie’s legacy, the Bay’s rich historic environment is central to its future.

Through a review of local audiences and existing engagement, we’ll be exploring how communities across Torbay connect with heritage – what inspires them, what barriers they face, and how the Heritage Place programme can support deeper, more inclusive participation. Our work will shape an engagement strategy to guide the programme from 2026–2033, and contribute to future funding bids and long-term planning.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with local stakeholders, community groups, and the Council to help ensure that this ambitious programme is rooted in the voices and experiences of Torbay’s communities.

Tracking three years of creative growth in Newham

Cultural Producer, Creative Newham

We’ve started working with Creative Newham and the University of East London (UEL) to evaluate their Newham Place Partnership programme over its three-year span. This initiative brings together local partners to help shape a more vibrant and inclusive borough for its residents. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with the team and the Cultural Producers, who have gained valuable training and employment opportunities in the cultural sector through the programme. Partnering with an organisation like Creative Newham, who are championing the next generation of creatives, is a fantastic opportunity for Tangram, aligning with our commitment to supporting emerging talent in meaningful ways.

Launching a new fund to tackle local poverty

Brent Giving stakeholders © Chris Winter

Brent Giving is a new community fund that aims to tackle poverty in the borough of Brent. Created by local businesses, charities and communities, the fund is a partnerships between the Football Association, Quintain Ltd., Sovereign Network Group Community Foundation, Harlesden Neighbourhood Forum and South Kilburn Trust. Working with the Brent Giving team, we helped launch the fund, promoting the launch to local media and creating assets for social media. Read more about the fund in the Brent & Kilburn Times.

Imagining a sustainable future for local London tourism

GLA workshop at Global Street Art

We were thrilled to deliver a creative workshop for the Greater London Authority to imagine a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive approach to London tourism. Bringing together cultural leaders from museums, BIDs, councils, tourism and government bodies and placemakers we discussed, debated and imagined what a more sustainable local tourism strategy would look like for the capital. It was an inspired day set in the even more inspiring location of Global Street Art’s gallery.
