Bradford City of Culture 2025
We’re so pleased to share that Tangram has been appointed to evaluate key strands of Bradford 2025’s heritage programme. The commission gives us the chance to spend time with the people and projects that shaped Bradford's City of Culture year.
We’ll be exploring how the programme resonated with communities, artists and local organisations looking at engagement, skills, confidence and connection. After experiencing some of the work ourselves, we’re excited to gather the insights that will help tell the story of its impact and inform Bradford’s cultural future.
Evaluating the social impact of the proposed new lighting scheme for St. Paul’s Cathedral
How can light shape accessibility, safety and culture around one of London’s greatest landmarks? That’s the question Tangram have helped the City of London explore as part of plans to adjust the lighting for St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The City, working closely with St. Paul’s Cathedral, is embarking on the relighting of one of London’s most treasured landmarks, ensuring that the scheme both celebrates Sir Christopher Wren’s vision and honours the building’s extraordinary architecture.
At Tangram, we’ve run workshops and reviewed international best practice to understand the social and cultural impact that this new lighting scheme could bring to the surrounding area. This includes everything from improving safety for residents and night-time workers, to supporting the night-time economy, and exploring how lighting might shape St. Paul’s as a place of reflection, contemplation and spirituality.
It has been fascinating to uncover just how profoundly lighting influences the public realm and how the right approach can enrich both the everyday and the extraordinary experiences of a city.
