Tangram on board to shape Medway's Heritage Strategy
We've been appointed by Medway Council to create their new five-year Heritage Strategy as part of their National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported Heritage Places programme.
From its world-renowned maritime and naval legacy, including Chatham’s historic dockyards, to Rochester’s rich literary connections to Charles Dickens, its military history, riverside communities and powerful stories of industry, creativity and everyday life - Medway is home to an extraordinary heritage offer.
Our work will build on the considerable momentum already underway through the Heritage Places programme and help shape a shared vision for how heritage can be celebrated, support regeneration, strengthen community identity, inspire pride of place and create opportunities for future generations.
Working closely with local communities, heritage organisations, stakeholders and the Council we’ll develop a strategy that celebrates both Medway’s nationally significant landmarks as well as important intangible human stories, traditions and lived experiences that make the area special.
We’ll also draw on expertise from leading planning and policy specialists, LCA, to ensure the strategy is grounded in today’s regeneration and planning landscape and positioned to influence future growth.
We’re looking forward to getting started and helping write the next chapter of Medway’s heritage story.
